1. Introduction
MyFriends ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal relationship management app developed by Furkan Çömez. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application.
2. Data Collection & Storage
All data you enter into MyFriends is stored locally on your device using an encrypted SQLite database. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any external server. No account creation or login is required to use the App.
3. Types of Data Stored
The App may store the following types of information, all locally on your device: • Friend profiles: name, phone number, email, website, date of birth, address, school, profession, parent names, and personal notes • Sibling information associated with friends • Meeting records: dates, locations, attendees, and satisfaction ratings • Friend groups and memberships • Debt and note records • Friend scores and rating history • Profile photos (stored as local file references)
4. Third-Party Personal Data
MyFriends allows you to store personal information about other individuals (your friends). You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right or consent to store such information. We do not access, process, or transmit this data in any way.
5. Internet & Offline Usage
MyFriends works fully offline. An internet connection is only required for displaying advertisements via Google AdMob. All core features — including adding friends, recording meetings, and managing groups — function without internet access.
6. Profile Photos
Photos you add as profile pictures are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to any server. When you export a backup, profile photos are excluded from the backup file.
7. Backup & Export
MyFriends allows you to export your data as an encrypted backup file (.mfb format). The file is encrypted using a 6-digit PIN you provide. We do not have access to your PIN or your backup files. You are solely responsible for keeping your PIN and backup files safe.
8. Advertising
We use Google AdMob to display interstitial advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect and use certain device information (such as advertising identifiers and device metadata) to serve relevant ads. 9. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
On iOS devices, we will request your permission before accessing your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. You can choose to allow or deny tracking. If you deny tracking, you will still see ads, but they may be less relevant to you. You can change this preference at any time in your device's Settings.
10. GDPR & Regional Compliance
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain consent for personalized advertising in compliance with GDPR. You may change your consent preferences at any time through the App's Settings.
11. Third-Party Services
MyFriends uses the following third-party services that may collect information: • Google AdMob — for displaying advertisements • Expo — for app development framework services Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing the use of information they collect.
12. Children's Privacy
MyFriends is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
13. Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time using the "Clear All Data" option in the App's Settings. This action is irreversible and permanently removes all information from your device. Alternatively, uninstalling the App will also remove all locally stored data.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the App with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
